Refreshed 2025 Volvo XC60 Launches with Sleek Design, Smarter Tech

Volvo has unveiled the updated 2025 XC60, enhancing its best-selling mid-size SUV with a more refined design, upgraded technology, and a sharper starting price of £48,410. That undercuts key German competitors, the BMW X3 and Audi Q5, which now start at £50,165 and £51,410, respectively.

The XC60 remains powered by the B5 mild-hybrid petrol engine in its entry-level Core trim, which also includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a new 11.2-inch touchscreen running Google’s Automotive OS. Standard features extend to LED headlights, 18-inch alloys, and a reversing camera with Park Assist.

Customers can choose from Core, Plus, Plus Pro, Ultra, and the stealth-inspired Black Edition trims. T6 and T8 plug-in hybrid variants are also available, both powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine. The PHEVs now come with an 18.8kWh battery offering up to 51 miles of all-electric range. The range-topping T8 Ultra Black Edition comes in at £69,860.

On the outside, the 2025 XC60 debuts a redesigned grille with diagonal slats, subtly smoked tail-lights, new alloy wheel designs, and fresh paint options including Forest Lake, Aurora Silver, and Mulberry Red.

Inside, the SUV gets a major tech boost with a larger, sharper touchscreen powered by a next-gen Snapdragon processor for quicker performance. The redesigned interface is more intuitive, requiring fewer taps to navigate, and offers greater personalization.

“Services such as Google Maps and Google Assistant come built-in, with more apps available through the Google Play store, and over-the-air updates allow for future improvements. Apple CarPlay also features for the iPhone users out there, and Volvo says it’s improved the wireless charging pad.”

Noise insulation has been improved with added soundproofing in key areas, and the cabin now includes extra storage, updated cup holders, and more modern material finishes. Volvo has also introduced its advanced air purification system across the range.

The refreshed XC60 is available to order now, with deliveries expected within three to four months, according to Volvo’s online configurator.
