Volvo CEO Jim Rowan will step down immediately, with his predecessor Håkan Samuelsson returning to lead the company on an interim basis.
Rowan, a former Dyson executive, took the reins at Volvo in 2022, marking a surprising shift from the tech industry to automotive leadership. He will officially leave the company on March 31, though no specific reasons for his departure have been disclosed.
During his tenure, Rowan led the company through the launch of the EX30, EX90, and ES90 SUVs and played a crucial role in advancing Volvo’s push toward electric vehicles with a new, sophisticated software architecture.
