Nike has invited athletes, sneaker enthusiasts, and cultural pioneers to experience its latest Air Max breakthrough: the Air Max Dn8, an evolution of the groundbreaking cushioning technology the brand has refined for over three decades.
For the first time, the Air Max Dn8 extends Nike’s Dynamic Air technology across the full length of the foot, delivering an entirely new sensation of walking on Air.
Building on the legacy of its predecessor, the Air Max Dn, this new silhouette utilizes dual-pressured Air units that respond dynamically with each step, offering unparalleled cushioning, flow, and movement.
The Air Max Dn8 enhances this innovation with two Air units and eight tubes, creating a continuous, pressurized flow from heel to forefoot—pushing the limits of what’s possible with Air technology.
"For the Dn8, we wanted to be lower to the ground. We wanted to feel more Air. We wanted to improve transition," says Jonathan Kosenick, lead designer, men’s sportswear. "All of those goals led us to design the shoe with eight Air chambers directly in contact with the ground, allowing them to compress more effectively and be significantly more flexible. This results in a bouncier, springier feel that channels Nike’s performance footwear innovation into an everyday shoe."
The Air Max Dn8’s rear Air unit consists of two pressurized chambers, each with two tubes. The back two tubes operate at higher pressure (15 psi), while the front two tubes feature lower pressure (5 psi). With every step, air flows seamlessly between the tubes in each chamber. The forefoot Air unit mirrors this setup, with air moving between two lower-pressure tubes in the back (5 psi) and two higher-pressure tubes in the front (15 psi).
Together, these dual Air units provide unmatched responsiveness and all-day comfort—achievable only with Dynamic Air technology. By incorporating the same innovation used in elite performance footwear, the Air Max Dn8 delivers optimal cushioning and heel-to-toe propulsion, enhancing every movement throughout the day.
A soft, breathable upper complements the Dynamic Air system, while premium materials ensure durability and a bold aesthetic inspired by fluidity and motion.
"When designing the Dn8, we kept thinking about what makes some of our favorite classic Air Max models so great: that you can put them on and go, knowing they’ll not only perform but exceed expectations," says Kosenick. "We wanted to create a shoe with that same ‘go anywhere, do anything’ versatility—one that thrives in any situation by harnessing the power of Dynamic Air."
The Air Max Dn8 launches in a Hyper Pink colorway on SNKRS and at select retailers on 6 February. A red edition follows globally on 6 March, with additional men’s, women’s, and kids’ colorways releasing in the coming weeks. Visit SNKRS to explore the design in detail.
