Marking 125 years of Ajax’s footballing legacy, adidas and the club have unveiled a timeless anniversary collection.
Ajax, a Dutch professional football club, was formed in 1900 in Amsterdam. Ajax is the Netherlands' most successful club and is best known for producing a series of entertaining attacking teams. Ajax was promoted to the top Dutch league, the Eredivisie, for the first time in 1911.
Paying homage to the club’s rich history, the collection draws inspiration from 1911—the first time Ajax was pictured in its now-iconic red and white kit. This release is a true throwback, blending classic aesthetics with modern craftsmanship.
The anniversary jersey embraces tradition, featuring a buttoned collar, long sleeves with red cuffs, and a clean, vintage design. In a nod to Ajax’s heritage, the club’s familiar crest is replaced with the historic flag of Amsterdam.
Staying true to the original look, the jersey is paired with all-white shorts and black-and-red socks—a combination worn until 1962. The classic Trefoil logo makes a subtle appearance, complementing other sponsors. The kit also includes an exclusive print from 1972, Ajax’s most successful year.
Both the men’s and women’s teams will don the anniversary shirt, which is accompanied by a sleek burgundy tracksuit, also featuring the flag of Amsterdam.
The Ajax 125th anniversary collection is now available for purchase via the club’s website and select retailers.
