First Trustees Holds 7th Annual Islamic Estate Planning Clinic to Promote Fair and Transparent Wealth Transfer

Held recently in Abuja under the theme “Wealth Transfer: Ensuring Seamless Equity and Clarity,” the clinic featured panel discussions led by distinguished professionals. Speakers examined critical aspects of Islamic estate planning, including asset distribution and the role of Sadaqah, Zakat, Wasiyyah, and Waqf in fulfilling religious and social responsibilities. The discussions emphasized transparency and fairness in wealth transfer to prevent disputes and ensure compliance with Islamic principles.

The event also addressed common misconceptions about gender equity in Islamic inheritance law. Experts such as Ustadh Abubakar Muhammed Sadiq, Mutiat Olatunji (Private Trust Specialist at First Trustees Limited), and Barrister Mohammed Yunusa provided clarity on key issues, reinforcing the importance of structured estate planning.
