The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to restructuring and recapitalizing the Bank of Agriculture (BoA) as part of broader efforts to strengthen the economy and improve food security.
At a progress review meeting on Friday, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, emphasized the BoA’s vital role in boosting agricultural production and stabilizing market prices.
While monetary policies are being implemented, he underscored the importance of complementary fiscal and real-sector strategies to drive productivity, support economic growth, and curb inflation.
The National Council on Privatization (NCP) has directed its technical committee to develop a comprehensive roadmap for repositioning the bank. Minister Edun expressed confidence that with the right strategy and leadership, the BoA could play a pivotal role in expanding the agricultural sector and ensuring long-term economic stability.
