Anthony Joshua Joins Andy Murray as Co-Owner of AD/vantage Padel Team

British heavyweight boxing star Anthony Joshua has entered the world of padel as the newest co-owner of the AD/vantage team, a leading contender in Spain’s Hexagon Cup competition. Joshua joins tennis legend Andy Murray, who also co-owns the team, alongside businessman Arran Yentob and former tennis coach Daniel Vallverdú.

AD/vantage made waves by clinching both the men’s and women’s titles at the inaugural Hexagon Cup in 2024. Joshua’s addition to the ownership group bolsters the team’s profile and strengthens its mission to elevate padel on a global stage.

Reflecting on his decision to invest in the sport, Joshua said, “The growth of padel as an international sport has been really impressive and interesting to watch. Joining Andy and the ownership team was an opportunity I had to take.”

Andy Murray, who also invests in padel through court operator Game4Padel, welcomed Joshua.

“The growth of padel as an international sport has been really impressive and interesting to watch so getting the chance to join Andy and the rest of the ownership team was an opportunity I had to take,” said Joshua.

Padel’s rising popularity has attracted a host of star athletes as investors, including soccer icons Lionel Messi (KRÜ Padel), Sergio Agüero, and Robert Lewandowski (RL9 Padel), as well as tennis great Rafael Nadal (Rafa Nadal Academy).

Arran Yentob, another co-owner of AD/vantage, praised Joshua’s involvement, saying, ““His experience can help us build on our recent success on the professional side, and together with Andy, Dani, and the rest of team AD/vantage, to further unlock the sport's potential and bring a new set of players to the court.”

The second edition of the Hexagon Cup is set to take place in Madrid from January 29 to February 2, 2025, with AD/vantage looking to defend their titles.
