Greenwich Merchant Bank Limited has appointed Mr. Benson Ogundeji as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, following approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Announcing the appointment, the Chairman of the Board, Mr. Kayode Falowo, said, “We are delighted to confirm Benson Ogundeji as our new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.”
Ogundeji brings over 30 years of extensive experience in the banking and financial services industry to the position. Since joining Greenwich Merchant Bank in July 2020 as Executive Director, he has been instrumental in the bank’s transition from Greenwich Trust Limited to a merchant bank, overseeing Corporate Banking, Treasury, and Global Markets.
Before his tenure at Greenwich, Ogundeji held senior leadership roles at several leading financial institutions, including Ecobank Nigeria Plc and GTBank Plc, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise.
Throughout his career, Ogundeji has demonstrated exceptional expertise in business development and operational excellence. His appointment comes at a crucial time as Greenwich Merchant Bank commences the next phase of its growth plans. Having related closely with Ogundeji as an Executive Director and Acting Managing Director in the last four years, the Board is confident about his ability to lead the bank in delivering our strategic goals.
