Registration is officially open for the 2024 African Economic Conference (AEC), a premier event jointly organized by the African Development Bank (AfDB), the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The conference will be held in Gaborone, Botswana, from 23 to 25 November, under the theme “Securing Africa’s Economic Future Amidst Rising Uncertainty.”
Bringing together African leaders, business executives, academics, young researchers, and experts, the AEC will address critical economic challenges and explore strategies to bolster Africa’s resilience in the face of global uncertainties.
This year’s discussions will center on four key themes:
- The Impact of Uncertainty on Africa’s Development
- Resilience through African-Led Solutions
- Innovative Financing in Uncertain Times
- Leveraging Technology for Predictive Strategies
The conference will emphasize the role of innovation and youth-driven solutions in enhancing resilience across various sectors. A highlight of the event is the research competition, which will recognize and award the most impactful contributions from researchers across the continent.
Through dialogue and expert insights, the African Economic Conference 2024 will generate actionable recommendations to guide African countries toward a stable and prosperous future as they navigate an increasingly complex global landscape.
