Okpebholo Appoints Suleiman Aledeh as Managing Director of Edo Broadcasting Service

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has named Suleiman Aledeh as the substantive Managing Director of the Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS), which oversees the state’s TV and radio stations. The appointment is effective immediately.

The announcement was made in a statement issued by Fred Itua, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.

Aledeh brings over two decades of experience in broadcast journalism and media consultancy, having worked with prestigious international platforms like Al Jazeera, SABC, and GB News UK. Currently, he is a prominent anchor at Arise News and shares his expertise on Classic FM.

A graduate of Philosophy from the University of Benin (1999), Aledeh began his media career at EBS while still a student. During his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) assignment at Ebonyi Radio, he became the first corps member authorized to deliver the station’s main news bulletin.

Aledeh later joined the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, where he developed and hosted influential programs, before transitioning to national television with top media houses such as TVC and Channels Television. His tenure at Channels TV was particularly impactful, as he anchored flagship programs, produced notable content, and covered major events like the 2011 and 2015 general elections.

Aledeh's appointment marks a homecoming to the station where his illustrious media journey began, promising a transformative era for EBS.

As the Assistant General Manager and Head of Media and Communications at Eko Disco, Nigeria’s leading electricity distribution company, Aledeh demonstrated strong leadership in strategic communication.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management and an Associate of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations.

Sulaiman holds a Master’s Degree in Humanitarian and Refugee Studies from the University of Lagos and has served as a Special Correspondent and News Anchor at Arise News in London and Lagos.
