Disney Secures Rights to Host the GRAMMYs in 10-Year Partnership with the Recording Academy

Disney Entertainment Co-Chair Dana Walden and Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. revealed today a landmark 10-year global deal positioning Disney as the new home for the GRAMMY Awards starting in 2027. This arrangement grants exclusive broadcasting rights across ABC, Hulu, and Disney+, making The Walt Disney Company the first new home of “Music’s Biggest Night” in half a century.

Under this agreement, the Recording Academy will produce not only the annual GRAMMY Awards but also multiple GRAMMY-branded specials and original music programming for Disney's platforms, reaching audiences worldwide.

For Disney, this addition complements a portfolio that already includes live event programming like “The Oscars,” “The CMA Awards,” “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest,” and ESPN’s premier sports coverage. The 2027 awards season is set to be a significant year for Disney, with ABC hosting the GRAMMYs, the Oscars, and Super Bowl LXI.

“This collaboration with the Recording Academy marks an extraordinary chapter for the GRAMMYs," said Walden. "It reflects Disney’s commitment to premier live events that resonate with global audiences, further enhancing our diverse lineup of world-class programming.”

Mason added, “Joining forces with Disney marks a pivotal moment for the Recording Academy, enhancing our mission of celebrating and supporting music creators around the world. We’re grateful to CBS for years of partnership and excited to begin this new era with Disney.”

The deal follows a period of transformation for the Recording Academy, which recently expanded its mission globally, grew its membership by over 3,000 women, and saw back-to-back ratings increases for the GRAMMY telecast, along with recognition by Fast Company on its Most Innovative Companies list.
