Crypto Market Cap Dips to $2.32 Trillion as Prices Ease


The global cryptocurrency market capitalisation dipped by 0.15%, settling at $2.32 trillion amidst softening asset prices. Increased sell pressure has impacted smaller coins, while the overall 24-hour trading volume fell by 3.20%, reaching $80.5 billion, according to CoinMarketCap data.

Despite the market's downturn, Bitcoin (BTC-USD) continues to face resistance near the $68,000 mark. However, most top 10 cryptocurrencies were trading positively at the time of reporting.

The DeFi sector accounted for $4.65 billion, or 5.78%, of the total 24-hour trading volume, while stablecoins dominated, comprising $74.64 billion (92.71%) of the total volume.

Bitcoin's price softened further, falling 1.2% to $67,689, as the CoinDesk Market Index, tracking 126 digital assets, dropped 1.2% in the past 24 hours. Ethereum (ETH-USD) slid 0.8% to $2,678, BNB (BNB-USD) fell 0.1%, and Solana (SOL-USD) advanced 4.2%.

Other notable movements include XRP (XRP-USD) gaining 0.6%, Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) rising 1.6%, and Cardano (ADA-USD) slipping 0.2%.
