Tinubu Appoints Dr. Mansur Muhtar as Chairman of Bank of Industry, Announces New Board Members


President Bola Tinubu has appointed Dr. Mansur Muhtar as the Chairman of the Bank of Industry Limited, along with a new board comprised of distinguished professionals. This announcement was made by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.

The newly appointed board members include Dr. Olasupo Olusi as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer; Mrs. Ifeoma Uz’Okpala as Executive Director, Large Enterprises; Mr. Shekarau Omar as Executive Director, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises; Mr. Usen Effiong as Executive Director, Corporate Services; Ms. Mabel Ndagi as Executive Director, Public Sector & Intervention Programmes; and Mr. Rotimi Akinde as Executive Director, Corporate Finance & Risk Management.

Additionally, the board includes Mallam Tajudeen Datti Ahmed representing the Ministry of Finance Incorporated as a Non-Executive Director; Mr. Adedamola Olufemi Young representing the Central Bank of Nigeria as a Non-Executive Director; Reverend Isaac Adefemi Agoye representing the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria as a Non-Executive Director; Mallam Muhammad Bala representing the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade & Investment as a Non-Executive Director; Mr. Oreoluwa Adeyemi and Mr. Sulaiman Musa Kadira as Independent Non-Executive Directors.

Dr. Muhtar brings decades of experience in finance, international development, public service, and academia to his new role, having previously served as Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, Budget and Economic Development from 2008 to 2010, and as Vice-President of Operations at the Islamic Development Bank.

President Tinubu has expressed his confidence in the new board, urging them to work collaboratively and with dedication to fulfill the bank’s mandate of supporting projects that promote job creation, poverty alleviation, and the improvement of socio-economic conditions for Nigerian families.
