Sony has officially introduced the PlayStation 5 Pro, the next leap in console gaming performance. Aimed at gamers seeking enhanced graphics and smoother gameplay, the PS5 Pro will be available starting November 7 for $699.99.
According to Hideaki Nishino, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Platform Business Group, the Pro model’s focus on delivering an even more immersive experience: “We developed PS5 Pro with deeply engaged players and game creators in mind, responding to their desire for higher-fidelity graphics and smoother frame rates.”
The PS5 Pro will come with a 2TB SSD, a DualSense wireless controller, and a copy of Astro’s Playroom. However, the vertical stand and disc drive are sold separately.
Key upgrades include:
- Upgraded GPU: The PS5 Pro is capable of running at 60 frames per second with superior graphics. It features 67% more Compute Units and 28% faster memory speeds, resulting in up to 45% faster rendering for a smoother gameplay experience.
- Advanced Ray Tracing: Enhanced ray tracing doubles or even triples the speed of light reflections and refractions, delivering more dynamic lighting effects.
- AI-Driven Upscaling: The new PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution uses AI to upscale visuals, adding incredible detail and image clarity.
Additional features include Game Boost, enhancing performance for over 8,500 PS4 titles, Wi-Fi 7 support, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and 8K gaming compatibility for supported displays.
