Ecobank Uganda Joins Forces with Ria Money Transfer to Boost Remittance Services

Ecobank Uganda Limited has entered into a strategic partnership with Ria Money Transfer, a leading global provider of cross-border remittance services. The collaboration aims to enhance remittance options across Uganda, enabling customers to receive funds directly into their Ecobank accounts. 

Both account holders and non-account holders can conveniently collect cash transfers at any Ecobank branch or through the bank’s extensive sub-agent network nationwide.

Ms. Grace Muliisa, Managing Director of Ecobank Uganda, emphasized the significance of this partnership for Ugandans both at home and in the diaspora, particularly those in the United Kingdom, the United States, and the Middle East. She stated, “This collaboration with Ria Money Transfer addresses the growing need for seamless financial solutions for Africans in the diaspora. We are excited to enhance the security and efficiency of remittance services for all Ugandans, making it easier for our diaspora community to support their loved ones back home.” 

Ms. Muliisa also highlighted that this partnership aligns with Ecobank’s mission to provide unmatched convenience in global funds transfer services, reinforcing its position as a trusted partner for the Ugandan diaspora.

Mr. El Hadj Malick Seck, Managing Director of Ria Money Transfer – Africa, shared similar sentiments, noting that this collaboration is a valuable addition to Ria’s network, which includes over 580,000 physical locations in nearly 200 countries. He emphasized the strategic importance of East Africa, particularly Uganda, in Ria’s operations, and how this partnership will offer even greater convenience to Ugandans sending money to their families back home.
