Nvidia NVDA has once again exceeded market expectations with its second-quarter earnings for fiscal year 2025, reporting a record-breaking revenue of $30 billion—a 122% increase from the same period last year. This impressive figure also marks a 15% rise from last quarter's $26 billion revenue, which had already surpassed forecasts, and represents a staggering 262% year-over-year growth.
The company's success is largely attributed to strong demand for its Hopper GPUs, crucial for training and operating advanced large language models (LLMs). Nvidia's data center division reported a record $26.27 billion in revenue for the quarter, up 16% from the previous quarter and 154% from the prior year.
Jensen Huang, Nvidia's founder and CEO, highlighted the ongoing demand for their AI products, stating, “Nvidia achieved record revenues as global data centers are in full throttle to modernize the entire computing stack with accelerated computing and generative AI.”
Nvidia's new Blackwell AI platform also played a key role, with customer samples shipped during the quarter and full production expected to ramp up by the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026. Despite earlier reports of potential delays, Nvidia confirmed that Blackwell's production remains on track, with no functional changes required.
Looking ahead, Nvidia has set its revenue expectations for the third quarter at $32.5 billion, plus or minus 2%, as demand for its AI chips continues to soar.
