The Duke of Shomolu Foundation is set to premiere its latest theatrical production, "GOWON," a historical stage play penned and directed by the esteemed Prof. Ahmed Yerima. Building on the success of "AWO" at London's Shaw Theatre, "GOWON" will make its debut at the Agip Recital Hall, Muson Centre, on August 24th and 25th, 2024.
"This eagerly awaited play delves into the life of General Yakubu Gowon, exploring his lineage, family, and pivotal role in Nigeria's unification," said Joseph Edgar, Executive Chairman of the Duke of Shomolu Foundation. "With a stellar cast, including British actress Tayo Elesin as Victoria Gowon, 'GOWON' promises an emotionally rich portrayal of Nigeria's history."
Having attracted over 500,000 attendees at previous productions, the Duke of Shomolu Foundation continues to strengthen its reputation as Nigeria's fastest-growing theatre franchise. "GOWON" offers a compelling experience for team bonding, networking, and a profound exploration of Nigeria's historical legacy.
