FIFA Launches Tender for Media Rights to Revamped Club World Cup

FIFA, the international governing body for football, has initiated the tender process for media rights to its revamped Club World Cup, covering the inaugural 2025 edition and the 2029 edition.

The tender spans the Americas, Asia, and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regions, with a bid deadline set for 4 PM Central European Time on August 20.

The first edition of the newly expanded FIFA Club World Cup will take place in the US from June 15 to July 13, featuring 32 clubs divided into eight groups of four, with a total of 63 matches to be played.

Similarly, initial discussions between FIFA and tech giant Apple regarding global streaming rights for the tournament have not resulted in a deal, prompting the need for a formal tender process.

This tender will first encompass the Americas, APAC, and MENA regions. FIFA has announced that a second phase, including Europe and sub-Saharan Africa, will follow "in due course."

Interested parties can obtain the invitation to tender documents by emailing FCWC-media-rights@fifa.org.
