AAAN Elects Noah’s Ark CEO, Lanre Adisa as President


The Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) has elected the Managing Director and Chief Creative Officer of Noah’s Ark Communications, Mr. Lanre Adisa as its 20th President at its 51st Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Ogun on Saturday, July 20, 2024.

Adisa succeeds the Managing Director of X3M Ideas, Mr. Steve Babaeko, who served the association for two terms.

Following his election, Adisa is expected to lead the AAAN executive board over the next two years.

Speaking on his election, he promised to build on the current successes recorded by the association and move it forward in the right direction.

Other elected executive members include Adekoyejo Abiola of Imaginarium as Vice President; Creativexzone’s Mr. Sola Adegorioye as Treasurer; Mrs. Fumibi Fayo-Adeleye of Prize Communications as Publicity Secretary and Mr. Sam Ochonma of The Hook Creative Agency as Assistant Publicity Secretary.

According to the Association, Babaeko, under whom the association gained significant relevance over the last four years, will serve as an ex-officio member along with Funke Adetola, Bisi Olusanya, Marie Awolaja, and Omoraro George.

Speaking at the AGM, Babaeko said strategic partnerships have enhanced the association’s relevance and reputation. He said fostering a collaborative culture has built a strong sense of community among its diverse members. He noted that AAAN has faced significant challenges but they have been surmounted through the support and cooperation of all members, leading to remarkable achievements. He also said the association is an entity that is stronger than it has ever been.

At the closing Gala and Award Night, five industry capatains were recognised. The Rising Star Award went to Popoola Oluwatobi of The Hook Creative Agency and Williams Jonah of SO&U. The Trailblazer Award was won by Kayode Olowu of OneWildcard. The Legend of Advertising Award, which recognised stellar contributions to the profession went to Mr. Tunde Thanni, Managing Director/CEO of Explicit Communications; Elder Chris Doghuje, former Chairman of the Advertising Practioners Council of Nigeria; Otuna Tunde Adelaja of Rosabel, Elder Dele Adetiba, former CEO of Lintas; and Mrs Omowunmi Owodunni, former Managing Director of STB-Mcann.
