Quadrant MSL’s COO, Oluwarantimi Olaniyan Steps Down, Shifts Focus to Sustainability and ESG Adoption

The Chief Operating Officer and Head of Business at Quadrant MSL, Oluwarantimi Olaniyan, has announced her departure after nearly five years of dedicated leadership. On Saturday, May 4, 2024, Olaniyan revealed her decision to redirect her efforts towards sustainability, impact, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) adoption—areas she is deeply passionate about.

Reflecting on her tenure, Olaniyan stated, “After almost five years of leadership at Quadrant MSL and transformation, in line with the direction given by the board of Insight Redefini, I will now be moving on to focus on driving sustainability, impact and ESG adoption. This has been at the core of my work and it is now time to contribute more value beyond what I have done in the past. My time at Quadrant MSL has been exciting, challenging and rewarding, and I am very proud of the work we have accomplished together.”

During her tenure as Chief Operating Officer and Head of Business, Olaniyan successfully managed business operations and service delivery across diverse sectors such as aviation, financial services, technology, fast-moving consumer goods, and public affairs. She played a pivotal role in designing and implementing social impact frameworks and ensuring compliance with operational standards set by both the global MSL group (a part of Publicis Groupe) and the regional Insight Redefini group (Publicis Nigeria).

During Olaniyan’s time at Quadrant MSL, she transformed the business from just a PR agency to a strategic communications firm where clients trusted the firm for strategic advisory, crisis management, and behavioural change campaigns. She expanded the business clientele portfolio by over 35% with new projects in reputation management, strategic communications and sustainability.

Since her appointment, innovation has been the major strand of the company’s DNA typified in the creation of three innovation assets: Q-intel, a public affairs intelligence advisory asset shared weekly with business leaders; Q-impact, a social impact and sustainabily aligned service for development-focused players; as well as Q-Talks, an industry-meets-issues thought-leadership platform featuring business leaders in the market.

Olaniyan went on to express her gratitude to the Insight Redefini leadership, and all Quadrant MSL’s partners for their support during her time at the company. She also implored the team to continue to trust the process and give the support that she was given, to the new leadership team.

Ranti Olaniyan’s journey at Quadrant MSL started in the thick of the pandemic in 2020, when the group had given a total transformation mandate to the business. As Lead Strategic Consultant, Olaniyan ran with this vision and transformed the business operations including financials. She moved on to become Head of Business following Bukola Shobowale’s exit from the company, before getting promoted to the office of Chief Operating Officer.

Oluwarantimi is an African-focused strategic communications professional, with over 12 years of work experience spanning advocacy, corporate communications, development, and public affairs.
