Nike and EA Sports Partner to Bring dotSwoosh NFTs to Future Games

Nike has reached an agreement with Electronic Arts (EA) that will allow NFTs to be included in future sports games published by the publisher.

According to a press statement from Nike, the agreement will see "virtual creations" from the dotSwoosh Web3 platform integrated into future EA Sports games.

"Nike's new partnership with EA Sports will look to build new immersive experiences and unlock brand new levels of customization within the EA Sports ecosystem," the company stated.

While no specific games were mentioned in the announcement, EA Sports is well-known for its FIFA and Madden NFL series. Nike and EA Sports' relationship will provide members and players with unprecedented options for artistic self-expression and innovation, combining style and sport in new and exciting ways. While neither company has revealed much specifics about the project, the teaser video below suggests football and soccer components.

“Joining forces with EA Sports is a thrilling development,” expressed Ron Faris, GM of Nike Virtual Studios, in a press release. “Our shared dedication to innovation, creativity, and excellence is the bedrock of this partnership. It paves the way for us to bring to life some truly remarkable experiences for our dotSwoosh community and the immense EA Sports fan base.”

Andrea Hopelain, SVP of Brand for EA Sports and Racing echoed this enthusiasm. “We at EA are steadfast in leading the next wave in sports fandom. Our renewed partnership with Nike directly intersects innovation, sport, and culture,” she stated.

“Through our collaborative work with dotSwoosh, we plan to position creativity and self-expression at the heart of fan experiences. We envision a world where fans can connect, compete, and share their passion for sports.”

More comprehensive details regarding the integration of the dotSwoosh community within future EA Sports experiences are slated for release in the coming months.

The dotSwoosh platform is currently in a closed beta phase, diligently working to establish a fair and secure platform for its community. It recently concluded its OF1 Box sale, with over fifty thousand participants and $1.9+ million in revenue.

Uefa, the European governing body, has invited firms to register their interest in the remaining sponsorship packages available for its next club competitions sponsorship cycle, which spans from 2024-25 to 2026-27.

Uefa is specifically seeking brands in the game console and food delivery and order segments. Sony's PlayStation, which sponsors the Champions League, and Just Eat, which sponsors the elite clubs tournament as well as the Europa League and Europa Conference League, are the current incumbents in these categories.
