Consummate communications professional, Femi Adeniran has been named Director of Corporate Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for telecommunications giant, Airtel Nigeria.
In his new position, Adeniran will be in charge of advising the executive council, managing, and leading the organization's strategies, activities, and deliverables related to strategic planning and communications, external relations/high-level stakeholder management, public relations crises and issues management, internal communications, partnerships, and advocacy for advancing sustainability agenda and CSR.
Additionally, he will be liaising with the Africa and Group Corporate Communications office to leverage Bharti-Airtel’s business performance and other activities in Nigeria.
With over 20 years of cross-continent experience across Banking, Finance, Public Sector, Telecoms and International Development, Femi Adeniran is one of West Africa’s leading Programme Directors with extensive senior-level experience in Business Development, Corporate and Investor Relations, Strategic Planning, Portfolio and Program Management, Risk Management as well as Marketing and Communications.
His career journey has also taken him through roles such as Head of PR, Advocacy & Stakeholder Engagement at Airtel Nigeria, Senior Special Assistant Public Affairs/Government PR to the governor of Osun in Nigeria, Group Head Brand and Marketing Communications at Wema Bank and Head Corporate Communications at GTBank.
An accountant by training, his experience spans Africa, the United Kingdom and North America. His expertise in selling, value creation and leveraging goodwill led to his appointment as Chief of Staff to the Vice-Presidential candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria in the 2011 Nigeria elections.
Born in 1976, the Lagos Business School Alumnus had his early education at Maryland Convent Private School Lagos and Secondary education at Federal Government College Ogbomosho. He holds a Diploma and B.sc in Accounting and postgraduate certification in Sales and Marketing from Humber College Toronto. He is presently enrolled in the global leadership MBA programme of the Sandermoen Business School, University of Fredericton Canada and possesses certifications from Harvard University.
Femi is a member of the ICT policy committee of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, a Fellow of the Institute of Brand Management, an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and a certified Project Management Professional.
He is also the Director of Global Partnerships at One Million Teachers’ – a global sustainable education and development organization present in Canada and 15 African countries and also serves as Lead Partner and Chief Executive of Strategy BSG – a company headquartered in North America, specialized in developing corporate strategy and project management for global organizations.
