OPay Takes on Uber And Bolt After Launching OCar

Having raised a fresh $120 million to scale up operations in Nigeria, Chinese backed startup, OPay, has unveiled a another service, OCar, to its already teeming list of services in Nigeria.

OCar is set to compete with existing taxi-hailing services like Uber and Bolt. It is now available in Lagos, Owerri, PH, Abuja, Benin, Kaduna, Abeokuta & Ibadan for just 200 Naira.

Adding OCar to its suite of services, OPay is determined to attract and keep its customers on its platform as can be deduced from its recent tweet below.

Also, it recently increased the fee on withdrawals from the OPay wallet from N10 to N45 for the first transaction and 1% flat for subsequent transactions.

OPay will now complete with the likes of Bolt, Uber, Oga Taxi etc in the cair hailing business in Nigeria.

The startup currently operate: ORide – a bike-hailing service; OTrike – a tri-cycle hailing service; OBus – a bus-hailing service; OWealth – OPay’s investment platform; OFood – on-demand Food Delivery service, and OList – Classifieds.
