Efosa Aiyevbomwan, former PR and Communications Manager, Nigeria/Anglophone West Africa at Universal Music Group has joined Uber as Head of Communications West Africa. He joined Uber on November 1, 2019.
With over 10 years experience in marketing communications, Aiyevbomwan will be responsible for all communications in the region for the car hailing company.
Before joining Uber, Aiyevbomwan led the Public Relations and Communications drive for Universal Music Group in Nigeria/Anglophone West Africa. He managed West African communications for UMG, the world leader in music-based entertainment, and its subsidiaries: UMGB (a creative agency), ULive (a live events & production company), UMG Live (talent bookings and management), and Bravado (a 360 full service merchandise company).
Sep 2017 – May 2018, he worked with MultiChoice as Public Relations Manager, DStv Nigeria where he was responsible for managing PR for the M-Net West Africa/Africa Magic group of Pay TV channels, I also managed PR for the overall DStv platform as viewed and experienced in Nigeria. In this role, I was responsible for the DStv brand image, as well as executing publicity plans for the platform's owned and third party pay TV channels.
Before moving to client side, Aiyevbomwan started his career from the agency side. He worked with Sesema Public Relations where he rose to the position of Account Manager before leaving the Maryland-base marketing communications agency.
He had his first degree from the prestigious University of Lagos and holds a MSc from School of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University.
