Osinbajo, Agah, Johnson, Others to Attend 12th Annual CIBN Banking & Finance Conference

Plans are in top gear for the 12th edition of the Annual Banking and Finance conference, hosted by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN). According to the CIBN, the President/Chairman of Council of CIBN, Dr. Uche Olowu, disclosed that the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, will be the special guest of honour at the event.

Themed "The Future of the Nigerian Banking Industry-360", the conference which is designed to provide direction to Nigerian Banks, Financial Institutions, regulators, policy makers and other stakeholders will bring together captains of industries to discuss critical issues that will have far-reaching impact on the banking industry.

Other key dignitaries expected at the event according to the President/Chairman of Council of CIBN include; Senator Ahmed Lawan, Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, Honourable Minister of Finance, Federal Republic of Nigeria; Mr. Mohammed Musa, Honorable Minister, Federal Capital Territory; Mr. Godwin Emefiele, CON, FCIB, Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria; His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Executive Governor of Lagos State

Speaking at a press conference held by the CIBN, Olowu stated that there will be a World Conference in London from 16th to 19th of September, 2019 which will be graced by the Central Bank of France, Committee of Governors, and ECOWAS, and the regional body of Africa Union in order to make sure Nigeria's economy is open for investments.

He added that there will be sessions that will discuss the Africa Continental Trade Agreement, AfCFTA, Cyber Security Issues, and the Future of Banking itself.
