Predictable Future Foundation to Hold Annual Girls Conference on Thursday

As part of its mandate to give a voice to the rights of girl child in Nigeria, Predictable Future Foundation (PFF), a non-profit organization launched with the focus on making quality education accessible to the less privileged girls is set to hold the annual girls conference on Thursday April 9th at the NECA house Agidingbi, Ikeja.

The conference which was designed to champion discussions around inclusive and qualitative education for the girl child will have some key stakeholders in the education eco-system as discussants and panelists.

Over Five hundred girls (500) girls and parents from select public schools will attend the 2019 edition and 50 beneficiaries will be selected for scholarship programme  through a transparent exercise for the 2019/2020 academic session.

“Recent UNICEF statistics in Nigeria showed that about 10.5 million out-of-school children, girls make up 60% of that population. Although the task is very enormous, every child, no matter their circumstances or gender deserves an education,” said Hannah Oyebanjo, President PFF.

She added that the mission of the NGO is to secure inclusive and qualitative education for the girl child with the attendant ripple effects resulting in a better economy, empowerment and a more sustainable country.

Oyebanjo further disclosed that PFF is saddled with bringing together government representatives and other stakeholders annually to x-ray the situation, formulate ideas and proffer solutions through contributions and partnership to support government efforts in providing the right environment for quality educational system for Nigerians. “This year’s edition comes at a crucial time when the number of out of school children especially girls is an all time high.”

Some of the partners and sponsors for the conference include NECA, Redwood Consulting, Zone4 Energy, Digilearn, EduLearn, Vas2net and others.

PFF believes in holistic education including counselling to ensure proper behavioral pattern for the girl child with less distraction and corrective attitude.

The NGO, managed by a team of seasoned Board of Trustees has impacted many lives through seminars, conferences and have fully sponsored students through Secondary School education since inception.
