So, we decided to review SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive m3.0.
PROS:
PACKAGING
The SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive comes in a sleek, retractable design. It has a protection cap at both end and offers both micro-USB and USB 3.0 connectors. It also has a hole which enables you to hang it to your key-ring.
STORAGE CAPACITY
SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive m3.0 comes in 128 GB, 64 GB, 32 GB and 16 GB capacity with rear speed up to 150 MB/s (only 16 GB has a rear speed of 130 MB/s).
BUILD
The memory stick looks really tough – it’s made of some sort of hard plastic.
SANDISK OTG MOUNTED
SanDisk Ultra DUAL USB Drive 3.0 comes with Micro USB port. On the Android, the SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive mounts automatically and you can access files from the device directly or copy them locally. On a computer, the SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive pops up just like a normal flash drive, which allows an easy drag-and-drop methodology to transferring files.
PERFORMANCE
To use the drive, you need to install the `SanDisk Memory Zone app for Android (available on Google Play) that helps you manage your device’s memory and your content. The Dual Drive m3.0 is compatible with Android smartphones and tablets featuring OTG (On-The-Go) USB support. The SanDisk Memory Zone app lets you view, access, and back up all the files from your phone’s memory in one location. It can also automatically move files from your device to your drive to free up space.
Using the drive is rather simple. This setup works with a Mac or PC, and in terms of Android support, you should be looking for a device with USB on-the-go (OTG). The memory stick is compatible with popular Andriod smartphones including HTC One, Sony Xperia Z, Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung J7, Galaxy Note 4, Huawi Y6 etc.
The speed is good both transferring data to or from my phone or tablet to my PC. You just plug in the SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive into your Android, or Windows/Mac OS X computer, and transfer files.
CONS:
BACKUP DESTINATION
You can’t selection backup destination. To backup your data from SanDisk Memory Zone app for Android, you can only transfer from your microSD Card to Dual Drive.
VERDICT
In all, SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive 3.0 is a must accessory for Android users, this can be your backup disk. It can also be your extra storage for your Android devices and you can easily transfer files to your PC using the standard USB port. For the price, you can get the 16GB for around N4000 on online stores like Konga and Jumia. It’s an affordable companion for your Android phone.
