Professor Kingsley Moghalu is a leader with a global worldview, and knows how nations transform; having worked with the United Nations for 17 years on building third-world countries like Rwanda, Cambodia and Croatia into fast-developing economies.
He believes the transformation of countries like UAE, Singapore, Malaysia, India and Brazil did not happen in a vacuum.
The leaders of those nations were clear on their desired destination; and they were committed to making it a reality. He believes Nigeria can be great if the right leaders are elected into public offices.
He was educated at University of Nigeria in Nsukka, London School of Economics and Political Science, The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, and Institute of Risk Management in London, UK. He also completed executive leadership programs in Harvard Business School, Chicago Booth School of Business, and international Monetary Fund Institute.
No wonder he was searched-out and head-hunted into the position of the Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria by the Emir of Kano, HRH Muhammadu Sanusi, during his tenure as the CBN Governor; a period filled with reformations and transformations in the Nigeria banking sector.
Kingsley sees a Nigeria whose institutions are strong, and its principal officers are committed to making it stronger. He sees a Nigeria where appointments are done on the basis of professional competence and character. He sees a political system where outstanding teachers, professors, inventors, entrepreneurs and literary talents are honored and adequately rewarded. He sees educating young people as the best way to break cycles of inter-generational poverty.
No Nigerian president has lived or worked abroad as an immigrant professional. They have all been home-grown in their professional and social experiences, which had limited their worldview. It is time for Nigeria to be led by a leader with a global mindset, who truly can envision, inspire and motivate. It is time for Nigeria to be governed in a manner that is fundamentally different. It is time to support the presidency of Professor Kingsley Moghalu.
