Even better for DStv subscribers, SS7, the Home of La Liga which is simulcast in HD & SD, has recently joined the DStv Family line-up of exciting entertainment channels added to the package at no extra cost!

“Bringing our customers quality entertainment has always been our key focus and we are excited to continue building our DStv entertainment options at every price point,” Martin Mabutho, General Manager, Sales and Marketing, MultiChooice Nigeria, said. “Last year we added more content and more importantly, brought down the English Premier League to the DStv Compact packages. And now we are further entrenching the notion of DStv being all about real value and the ‘Home of Football’ by bringing ALL Spanish La Liga games in HD down to the DStv Family package at no extra cost.”

Spanish football’s gradual shift of power of the last 12 months looks to be complete. Real Madrid are now back on top after spending the better part of the last decade in the shadows of their eternal rivals Barcelona.

With Neymar gone, the La Masia talent well is drying up and not making any waves in the transfer market, the dominant force of the last decade, Barcelona, are teetering on the edge of mediocrity.

The affirmation was brutally delivered in the two legs of the Spanish Super Cup, the curtain raiser to the La Liga season where Real vanquished Barcelona 5 – 1 on aggregate.

The 2017/18 La Liga season officially gets underway this weekend live on SuperSport. And if the Super Cup results are anything to go by, Los Blancos will win the league at a canter.

Zinedine Zidane’s charges look unstoppable and are brimming with world class talent for every position on the field reminiscent of the Galacticos era.

However, Real’s crosstown rivals Atletico Madrid will disagree though. Los Colchoneros have also not being making any waves in the transfer market but, have pulled off the most astute piece of business in the market, retaining the services of star striker Antoine Griezmann and head coach Diego Simeone.

The 2013/14 champions have also bolstered their squad with the acquisition of speedy winger Vitolo from Sevilla. The new season looks set to be a two-way dog fight between the cross-town rivals and not the habitual Real-Barcelona duopoly fans have become accustomed to.

Catch all the Spanish football action from La Liga live and in glorious HD on DStv’s Premium, Compact+, Compact, Family along with select games on Access from Friday, 18 August.
