With the battle rounds out of the way, contestants are now bracing up for the Live Shows with only one objective; to emerge winner of Season 2 of Airtel The Voice Nigeria.
The four coaches will be preparing four talents each for the crown. And at this stage of the show, viewers can now vote for their favourite talent.
The last five episodes of the contest (battle rounds) left the coaches with no choice but to bowdlerize their team; settling for the best choices for the Lives.
In episode 10, we saw Chris Rio and J’dees battled to a stripped down near accapela rendition of WestLife’s ‘More than words’. #TeamWaje’s Zorah and Shapera kicked off the performance of the night with Adam Lambert’s “Whataya Want From Me”. Waje puts Shapera through to the Lives.
#TeamPato’s Voke and Eseqlic in the show brought out the light-hearted side of the competition, with their theatrical rendition of Tiwa Savage’s song titled “Wanted”, sending the Coaches in stitches. Voke won the Battle round.
Arewa did not disappointed her fans with her powerful voice and her pair Amarachi also demonstrated her talent in their performance of Emeli Sande’s “What I Did For Love”. Coach Waje elected Arewa while Amarachi got a steal from Coach Timi Dakolo.
Ending the battles was a contest between three talents. Having ended up with 13 talents at the Blind Audition, Coach Timi made the final pairing of the episode, putting forward Sandra, Victor and twin sisters Tara & Bella. Timi puts Victor through to the Lives after a performance of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”
All contestants that have made it through the Battle Rounds will on Sunday night continue their quest to stardom.
You can watch the show every Sunday on Africa Magic Showcase (DStv Ch151) and Africa Magic Urban (DStv Ch153) by 7pm Nigerian time.
The Voice Nigeria is proudly sponsored by Airtel, the smartphone network.
