Twitter's New Option To Mute Notifications From Strangers, Haters

In a bid to tackle trolls spewing hateful content on its platform, micro-blogging platform Twitter has introduced a new filtering options for notifications to allow users to limit what they see.

The microblogging website in a statement said there is “nothing to share yet on how well the existing mute options have been working and did not say how long new Twitter users will need to use the social network before the new account filter stops blocking them.



“For much of our safety work, we can’t share too many details or people will try to game the system.”

To enable these filters, a user must access the ‘Advanced filters’ option from the ‘Settings’ on the ‘Notification’ timeline.
