Visuals for “Lavender,” a song that first appeared on Canadian group BADBADNOTGOOD and Kaytranada’s IV, show a clown-faced President “Ronald Klump” holding a press conference where he announces a plan to “deport all dogs.”
The politically-charged music video showed a press conference by President "Ronald Klump" in which he announces plans to deport all "doggs." Near the end, Snoop points a gun at the head of "Klump" and pulls the trigger. A cartoon "Bang" unfurls from the barrel of the gun.
"The whole world is clownin’ around," the rapper told Billboard.
Since the video’s release, elected officials have also weighed in on the matter. Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio told TMZ, “I think people can disagree on policy, but we’ve got to be very careful about that kind of thing, because the wrong person sees that and gets the wrong idea, and you can have a real problem.”
Trump’s attorney, Michael Cohen, has also weighed in on the matter, telling TMZ that Snoop “owes Trump an apology,” and that there’s “nothing funny about an assassination attempt on a president.”
The four-minute music video, directed by Jesse Wellens and James DeFina, also features actor Michael Rapaport dressed as a clown, who is pulled over and shot by a clown-faced police officer.
