Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt, yesterday, pipped the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and LeBron James to win the 'Sportsman of the Year' trophy for a record-equalling fourth time.
Gymnast Simone Biles bagged the top honour in the women's category at the Laureus World Awards at a glittering ceremony which was held in Monaco.
He won the Sportsman of the Year award for the fourth time and joined the likes of Roger Federer, Serena Williams and Kenny Slater.
Among the other notable winners, American Baseball side Chicago Cubs won the Laureus Team of the Year award for winning the Major League Baseball World Series after 108 years.
English Premier League champions Leicester City won the special Laureus 'Spirit of Sport' award for their fairytale glory last year.
American gymnast and Rio Olympics gold medalist Simone Biles bagged the Sportswoman of the Year award and the most decorated Olympian of all time, Michael Phelps won the "Comeback of the Year" award. Phelps had retired after London Olympics but came back to win 5 gold medals at Rio.
