Head of Human Resources and Corporate Services, MTN Nigeria, Amina Oyagbola has resigned from the telecom giant after twelve years.
Oyagbola, popularly described as the Y’ello Lady because of her yellow fashion preference, joined MTN in 2004 as Corporate Services Executive; she also served as the pioneer Director of the MTN Foundation.
In a statement, Funso Aina, PR and Protocol Manager, Corporate Services Division of MTN Nigeria, said Oyagbola has added significant value to MTN Nigeria in various capacities. She became the Human Resources Executive in 2008 during which the company became Nigeria’s first enterprise accredited with the Investors in People (IIP) Gold Standard, under her leadership, the company was named the best telecoms company in Jobberman’s best 100 best places to work in Nigeria in 2014.
“Amina will be missed for her exemplary work ethic. She is much loved, and very popular with the staff for raising staff welfare and the HR function to award-winning heights. She will continue to support the organisation on select projects for the near future.
“MTN is grateful to its Y’ello Lady for her loyalty and dedication over the past 12 years and wishes her success in her future endeavours”, Aina said.
She also served as a Director on the boards of MTN Benin (Spacetel) and Visafone, she chaired MTN’s Audit and Risk Committee. In 2015 she was named Corporate Services Executive and HR Executive.
