The Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) has concluded plans to stage the 11th edition of its annual creative award, “LAIF – Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival Awards”.
The Awards Dinner is scheduled to hold as follows on saturday, December 3, 2016, 5.00 p.m. at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos State.
The AAAN Vice President/ Chairman, LAIF Board, Mr. Ikechi Odigbo said, “ LAIF Awards is an international standard awards ceremony that compares favourably with global practice. Over the years, the festival has grown in leaps and bounds and is beginning to emerge as the epicenter of Nigeria’s creative economy.”
He said to stage an even more impactful festival, AAAN has secured the commitment of reputable creative personalities from leading creative agencies, to serve as seminar facilitators, jurors and advisors.
The AAAN Publicity Secretary/ Vice Chairman, LAIF Board, Mr. Steve Babaeko said the objectives of LAIF Awards include the need to reward and recognise outstanding creativity in advertising and brand building, promote excellence in brand strategy development, project Nigeria’s creative potentials in international circles, create an avenue for the celebration of ideas and best practice and also recognise marketing communications excellence.
For this year’s edition, the LAIF Management Board will be organizing three major events namely the LAIF Seminar/Exhibition, Young LAIFERS Award and the LAIF Awards Dinner.
The LAIF Seminar is a pre-award seminar targeted at the senior executives of advertising, media and marketing industry. The programme will be facilitated by local and international brand luminaries and will have in attendance over 500 delegates from various sectors of the industry.
The young LAIFERS Competition is positioned to discover and encourage young talent. The creative contest will hold in 2 categories, the first category for young practitioners while the second will be for students of higher institutions.
However, the LAIF Awards Dinner will convene over 600 captains of industry, business leaders and policy makers alike.
One of the major highlights of the LAIF Awards is the introduction of new categories, which include Young Agency of the Year, Agency of the Year, Marketer of the Year, Creative Personality of the Year and Creative Effectiveness Category (LAIFFIES).
