On Sunday, 10th of July at a live show tagged “5ive Live Sessions” at The Bridge, a swanky spot located in Lekki, Lagos, a new music publishing outfit named 5ive Music launched.
Social media was abuzz with the event as celebrities and social media influencers present at the event shared pictures from the event on their various accounts.
5ive Music was created primarily to pick up and exploit music publishing rights in catalogues currently controlled by three of the major Nigerian record companies – Chocolate City Music, Cabal/Storm 360 and NowMuzik – and to sign new songwriting talent, with a view to securing the fullest exploitation of all rights throughout the world.
5ive Music also controls additional rights, as appropriate to give African music a more global front.
General Manager, Aibee Abidoye kicked off the event by sharing the vision of the company with guests in a brief interlude between a string of spectacular performances while Paul Okeugo along with Obi Asika, Efe Omorogbe, Tola Odunsi and D’banj made sure everyone had a great time.
The inaugural “5ive Live Sessions” featured thrilling performances by Adekunle Gold, Niniola, Kelly Hansome, Koker, Dice Ailes, Acetune, Johnny Drille, Terry Apala, IBK, Sojay, Tobi Emmanuel and more backed by Tek Band, 2Baba’s official band.
