Delta Air Lines has hired the service of Omnicom Media Group’s PHD to handle its global media account.
PHD emerged the winner of the account in a competitive pitch against the incumbent, Publicis Groupe’s Digitas and IPG Mediabrands’ UM. The account is reportly worth about $100m.
PHD will manage all traditional and digital media out of the US, with spending expected to more than double from the $45m the brand invested in media in 2015.
It follows PHD’s appointment to handle the UK media planning and buying for Virgin Atlantic, which is 49% owned by US carrier Delta.
