Omnicom Media Group (OMG) has announced that OMG South Africa CEO, Josh Dovey, will be responsible for the group’s media operations in the whole of sub-Saharan Africa, effective 1 January 2016.
“We have been developing our presence in Africa for some years and already work with a number of major clients across the continent,” says Daryl Simm, OMG’s Worldwide CEO. “As CEO Africa, Josh will drive the continuing expansion of our networks capabilities. (OMG) South Africa will be fully integrated into our reporting structures under Colin Gottlieb, CEO Europe, Middle East and Africa region, based in London.
He added: “We have been working closely with Josh and his team for many years, and this formal alignment reflects the rapidly growing importance of Africa to our global clients. It now gives us market leadership in South Africa and Nigeria, and a very strong platform for growth in one of the world’s most dynamic regions.”
OMG SA includes two of the country’s major media agencies, OMD and PHD, plus other subsidiary operations in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.
