#CES 2016: Huawei Unveils Mate 8 Smartphone

Huawei launched the Mate 8 smartphone globally at CES 2016. The device is available in two versions- 3GB +32GB at 599 euros (approx Rs 42,000) and 4GB + 64GB for 699 euros (approx Rs 50,000). It has been unveiled in 30 countries including Spain, Germany, France, United Arab Emirates and Australia initially.

Huawei Mate 8 features a 6-inch high contrast display. It is a big device at 157x81x7.8mm and we found it a little tricky to stretch our fingers to the top of the 6in display, but the small bezel and chamfered edges make it feel more compact and pleasant to hold than some other similarly sized smartphones on the market.

The Huawei Mate 8 has a 16MP rear-facing camera, an improvement on the 13MP sensor seen on the Mate 7.

Huawei is becoming a more dominant force in the smartphone market, and is confident that its latest effort, the Mate 8, will help to further creep up on market leaders Apple and Samsung.
