Zuriel Oduwole Launches Foundation in Lagos

Not satisfied with just talking about the need to educate Africa's children, especially the continents girl child, 13 year old film maker and education advocate, Zuriel Oduwole on Saturday, December 12, launched her foundation in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Supported by her two younger siblings Azaliah and Arielle, the intimate and private invite only morning event was attended by many from across all segments of the society. As a film maker, she was honored to have Genevieve Nnaji, representing the business community; Kay Ovia - wife of Zenith Bank Chairman, Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, representative of the US Ambassador, President of Dangote Foundation, representative of Edo State First Lady, well meaning Nigerian's and dozens of school children from across Lagos.

Zuriel believes even young children, can make a difference in their own small ways. Having met and interviewed 16 Presidents & Prime Ministers over a 20 month period, she understands that governments alone can't solve all of Africa's Education challenges.

Earlier in September, she visited an IDP in Abuja, where she taught the children Alphabets, and she also visited in Lagos the Makoko Slum2School facility, where she donated books to their new library.

She has so far spoken to more than 23,000 children across 10 countries, about the importance of education, and the need to stay in school.
