NFL Team Unseats Real Madrid As The World’s Most Valuable Team

National Football League side Dallas Cowboys have unseated Real Madrid as the most valuable sports team in the world according to a Forbes survey of the richest teams in the National Football League.

The Cowboys, owned by American businessman Jerry Jones, are said to be worth around $4billion (£2.59bn).

According to Forbe, the five most valuable sports teams in the world are now the Cowboys ($4 billion), Real Madrid ($3.26 billion), Patriots ($3.2 billion), New York Yankees ($3.2 billion) and Barcelona ($3.16 billion).

The only English Premier League team in the top list is Manchester United valued at $3.1 billion.

Forbes says the average NFL franchise is now worth $2 billion, a 38 percent increase from last year that is due in part to a $39 million increase in national television rights fees shared among all teams.
