Soft drink giant Coca Cola has become the first brand to benefit from a customised Twitter emoji after the micro-blogging platform unveiled a pair of stylised glass bottled wrapped in the familial red label and flowing white ribbon.
Twitter has been experimenting with new emojis this year and already introduced Star Wars-themed ones to promote The Force Awakens.
Coca-Cola is a global partner of Twitter. Twitter’s Brand Strategy team worked together with Coca-Cola and creative agency W+K to design and create the new emoji—two coke bottles depicted in a toast.
According to senior director of global brand strategy at Twitter, Ross Hoffman, the company will continue to test this ad unit before determining the future of emojis as a product.
