Glo To Honour Wole Soyinka, Three Other Nigerian Writers

Telecommunications giant, Globacom to honour Playwright and Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka with grand literary event later this month. The company will also be honouring three Nigerian younger writers: Sefi Atta, Tope Folarin and E.C. Osondu.

In a statement by the company, the event is being organized to celebrate the literary stars for their immense contributions to Literature and projecting Nigeria in the literary world.

Tagged: “A Night with Wole Soyinka and Nigeria’s Young Literary Stars”, Globacom said the event is to honour Soyinka and some of Nigeria’s young but inspirational literary writers’ while noting that Soyinka has brought honour and glory to Nigeria and the whole of Africa. Apart from celebrating the iconic writer and playwright, the event will also provide a platform for lovers of literature, the media and the guests to interact with Soyinka and a number of award winning writers.

Globacom plans to launch a special prize in Literature for undergraduate students across the country tagged: ‘The Glo Literature Prize for Undergraduate Students.’
