German automotive manufacturer Audi has reached a sponsorship agreement with the China Winter Sports Administration.
According to Yutang Sports, Audi will back China’s figure skating, short track skating, snowboard halfpipe, alpine skiing, freestyle skiing aerials teams as part of the new deal with the China Winter Sports Administration.
Audi will provide financial support to the teams as well as offering Chinese athletes the chance to test and train at the company’s wind tunnels in Germany. It will also back three Chinese skiing resorts at Jilin Beidahu, Zhangjiakou Yunding and Changbai Mountain Wanda, and sponsor the International Ski Federation’s (FIS) World Snow Day activities in the country.
Audi’s sponsorship follows the IOC’s decision to award the 2022 winter Olympic Games to Beijing on Friday.
