Meddlelane, Hai to Battle for Fayrouz L’Original 2 on Saturday

The Grand Finale of Fayrouz L’Original 2 will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Grand ballroom Oriental hotel, Lagos. The finalists Meddlelane and Hai emerged from the six Teams that made it to the semifinal held in Tinapa Lakeside Resort, Calabar in June.

This year’s event themed: ‘Enchanted’ will see both teams battle each other with their interpretations of the finale task - ‘Wonderland‘. Each teams consist of a makeup artiste, fashion designer, model and photographer.

Speaking with the media at a press briefing during the week, Senior Brand Manager Fayrouz, Nnenna Ifebigh-Hemeson said the competition is to encourage the youth to make a living out of what they love doing without their parent being worried about what they will do after they graduate from school or complete their National Youth Service.

The winning team will go home with N4m while the first runner up will be rewarded with N1m. Finalists will also go home with consolation prizes including Apple Macbook laptops and professional cameras.
According to bespoke fashion designer, Mai Atafo who has been part of judges since the maiden edition held last year, the teams were judged based on their ability to interpret given task, teamwork and team synergy. "For each region, we gave out a task and we considered what they got right and tell them where they are wrong. The competition gives every team member to opportunity to know a little about related fields within their preferred passion. They learn from each over. From fashion designing, make up, modeling to photography.

The organizers also revealed that while over 400 entries were recorded last year, this year's edition had over 900 entries nationwide.

Fayrouz L’Original 2 kicked off in May with nationwide auditions held in four Nigerian universities; University of Ibadan, University of Nigeria, Enugu, University of Port Harcourt and University of Lagos.
