Hublot Unveils the Classic Fusion House of Mandela to Honour Nelson Mandela

Luxury watch maker, Hublot has unveiled a pair of limited edition Classic Fusion wristwatches created in collaboration with the late Nelson Mandela's foundation, with a portion of the proceeds from their sale going to the charity.

Nelson Mandela was a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, politician and philanthropist who served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999.

The House of Mandela, a charitable foundation set up by the former South African leader, worked with Hublot to develop the limited edition Classic Fusion. Limited to 95 pieces, the Classic Fusion House of Mandela is available as a 45mm men's watch or in a 42mm case set with 1.15 carats of diamonds for the ladies.

The dials have a vertical brushed finish with the House of Mandela logo, a bee with wings resembling the branches of a tree.

The timepiece, which goes for $30,900, is an 18k king gold and alligator strap homage to the late Nelson Mandela. A portion of profits from that impressive price tag will be go back to the foundation to aid them in their efforts of pursuing social justice in order to promote piece, human rights, and democracy. There were only 95 pieces made, and naturally we hope every single one of them sells.

Hublot CEO, Ricardo Guadalupe, commented: "It is an honour for us to have been able to create this piece as a tribute to such an important figure as Nelson Mandela, who has made a lasting mark on the history of humanity. The Classic Fusion House of Mandela is a way for us to ensure the philosophy and actions of this great man continue to live on."
