Nigerian Bottling Company strengthens Public Affairs Unit

Nigerian Bottling Company Limited (NBC), a member of Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company A.G., has appointed Mr. Akomen Omijeh as Corporate Communications Manager and Miss Bisi Aweda as Communication Channels Manager, effective May 11, 2015.

Akomen, who joined NBC from Cadbury, started his career in Cadbury Nigeria in 2001 and held several positions in the brand marketing unit of the multinational company. In 2008, Akomen moved to the Corporate and Government Affairs Team in Cadbury. He holds a first degree in Business Administration and an MBA from the University of Lagos, specializing in Marketing Communications. He is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

Miss Aweda, prior to her recent appointment as Communication Channels Manager, was the Assistant Communications Manager in the Public Affairs Unit of NBC. She holds a BA in Mass Communications from Babcock University and an MA in International Marketing Management from Bournemouth University.

“The new appointments are aimed at strengthening our capabilities and sharpening our focus on reputation management,” stated Uzo Odenigbo, Head of Public Affairs at NBC.
