Google has announced the most popular Nigerian videos on YouTube of all time. The video that takes the spot is First Lady, Patience Jonathan’s ‘Dia ris God’ cry which was uploaded by Channels TV.
The video, published in 2014 showed Mrs. Jonathan breaking down at a meeting over the abduction of about 276 schoolgirls by Boko Haram insurgents in Chibok, Borno State, in a dramatic display of emotion that drew global attention and ridicule.
She questioned why the principal hesitated to honour her invitation for a meeting in Abuja, and the circumstances of the kidnap. With no satisfactory response from the principal, the First Lady exploded, “All these blood you people are sharing, diaris God o, diaris God o, God…o….Chai, diaris God o,” she lamented repeatedly before dabbing tears from her eyes with a handkerchief.
