Goldberg Fuji T’o Bam gets tougher, enters quarter final stage

After rigorous auditions in Ota, Osogbo, Ibadan and Akure, 30 contestants out of the total of 91 picked at the various locations for Goldberg Fuji T’o Bam have moved to the quarter final stage to compete for the Wura 1 of Fuji and the handsome cash reward.

Nigeria’s number one Fuji talent hunt contest would be a stage for the biggest Fuji concert where top Fuji icons and ace comedian, Saheed Osupa, Sule Malaika and Bolaji Amusan  (Mr.Latin), Sanyeri, Odulade Adekoya will thrill thousands of fans at the Ota town hall on Friday.

The selection event which was described by fans and judges as a tight battle, produced WoleAnobi (Angel) Ota, Akeem Okikiola, Akure, Ejire Performer, Osogbo, Arole Currency, Ibadan and others. Antenna, first edition winner of the contest and an ambassador of Fuji t’o Bam and ace Yoruba movie producer and actor OdunladeAdekola, who doubled as the compere, entertained the massive crowd that came to shower support on the contestants and enjoy the fun and interaction that Goldberg Lager Beer brought to the fore.

Adebayo Faleke, Splash FM on air personality and one of the judges of the show revealed that the Fuji T’o Bam contest have not only exposed the talents, but has helped the contestants in every area which include outlook, speech and confidence in being the best at what they do.

He added that the expectation of the judges at every stage of the contest is very high and the contestants have not performed below their capacities. He applauded Goldberg lager beer for the huge investment in promoting culture, values and beliefs of its consumers, saying "the Fuji industry will forever remain indebted to the brand for once again showing to the World that there opportunities in everything in life."

Another judge, AlhajiSikiru Agboola, a veteran in the industry, said that, the Goldberg Fuji T’o Bam consumer engagement platform which “over past editions has created credibility and fairness for all contestants is the first Fuji music talent hunt in the history of Fuji music in Nigeria. It gladdens my heart that it is further setting the bar which every other brand must fight to meet.”

He said, the contest has moved to a stage where the lucky contestants would enjoy mentoring and career direction tutors as well as meeting with other notable elders that will help shape their minds and careers.

It would be recalled that, Mr. KufreEkanem, the Corporate Affairs Adviser of Nigerian Breweries Plc had explained during the kickoff of the competition that it will take place across key cities in South West Nigeria with notable Yoruba actors, like Sanyeri, KamiluKompo, Mr. Latin and OdunladeAdekola gracing the event from the quarter final to the grand finale stages.

Ilesha in Osun State will host the semi-final, while the grand finale which will hold in Ibadan is expected to be an exciting life changing experience for the finalists and fans.

Mr. Ekanem noted that Fuji music enjoys huge followership, especially in the south Western part of Nigeria, which has led the brand to create the platform “to connect and engage target consumers.” The music genre, he pointed out, thus provides a credible platform for the brand to get closer to them and share their interest and culture.

Fuji T’o Bam is an indigenous music activation platform of Goldberg which has in the last two editions led to the discovery of budding Fuji talents.
