From cars powered solely by air to vehicles with vegetable-based exteriors, the future of car manufacturing is set to transform our driving experience.
In Nigeria schools like the University of Lagos, University of Benin, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife etc have set the pace in producing prototypes of concept cars that run on solar energy and electricity which have given them much recognition. Carmudi, the easiest means to sell or buy your vehicle online, reveals the five most anticipated cars of the not-so-distant future.
“Cars today are safer, more fuel efficient and more technically advanced than ever before,” says Carmudi.com.ng. “But there is still room to be innovative, and this is evident when we take a look at the cars of the not-so-distant future.”
Here are top five future vehicles to look out for in the not-so-distant future, as identified by Carmudi:
2030 Honda Air, 2 seater, weighs 364 kg, powered by compressed air
X factor: The Honda Air has an extended range and increased boost to last an estimated 100 miles. Anytime you need to have your tanks and reserves refilled efficiently, a Honda generator and air compressor does the trick, either from the comfort of your own home or at a local station.
2020 GM Cadillac Aera, 2 + 2 seater, weighs 450 kg, powered by compressed air
X factor: The Aera uses a highly efficient technology called Pneumatic Drive System (PDS), which has a 10,000 psi composite air storage tank that is capable of driving 1,000 miles before refueling. This means you can enjoy the luxury of a Cadillac, while also saving the environment and extra cash on fuel.

To extend its range, this human-electric hybrid allows pedaling power to be supplemented by the driver.
2035 Nissan iV, 1 seater, weighs 450 kg, powered by electricity
X factor: The iV Concept has state-of-the-art safety features, including the brand’s Safety Shield program which gives 360° of security by monitoring, responding, and protecting you from collisions. The iV is also significantly lighter than any of today’s cars because it doesn't need a number of the would-be standard parts including bumpers, airbags, and even beams.
Carmudi created this list by identifying vehicles with features that are non-existent in today’s auto market such as pneumatic regulator systems, vegetable-based polymer panels and semi solid free formed frames. We can’t wait for these cars of the future, their release dates are, of course, subject to change.
